An experience like no other, travel across a vast glacier while learning new skills, challenging yourself and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
In this full day activity, you will travel from Úlfljótsvatn to Sólheimajökull (coach transfer included) where an Icelandic glacier guide will take you on to the glacier for a few hours teaching you about how glaciers are formed, how to safely travel on a glacier and much more.
On the way back you will stop at famous waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss.
Schedule:
09:30 – Depart Úlfljótsvatn
11:30 – Arrive to Sólheimajökull car park and prepare equipment
12:00 – Begin your glacier walk
14:30 – Arrive back to the car park and begin journey back
15:00 – Arrive to Skógafoss and explore
15:30 – Depart Skógafoss
16:00 – Arrive to Seljalandsfoss and explore
16:30 – Depart Seljalandsfoss
17:50 – Arrive back to Úlfljótsvatn
Required Equipment:
– Hiking boots with ankle support
– Backpack (min. 20L)
– Sunglasses with UV protection
– Gloves (waterproof preferred)
– Long pants and long sleeves
– Warm clothes
– Waterproof jacket and trousers
– Personal Medication
If you are missing any of these items the guide can refuse to take you on the glacier.
All specialised equipment as well as transport is included in the cost.
