Camping tips and tricks

Home

Camping is a great way to unplug and reset, however, there are a lot of things that can go wrong and make the trip stressful. But fear not, we have put together a short list with our best tips to make sure your trip is the best it can be.

1. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

We all know that practice makes perfect, the same goes for camping. Practicing setting up, and packing your tent before leaving for your trip is a great way to get to know your tent. That way you don’t end up spending all night trying to set up a new tent.

2. KEEP YOUR CLOTHES WARM

Sleeping with your clothes in your sleeping bag with you keeps them nice and warm for when you start your day, if you don’t wanna have your clothes in the sleeping bag with you you can put them in your sleeping bags bag and it doubles as a pillow, which is a great way to save up space in your back bag.

3. BRING THAT ROLL OF TAPE!

Tape can be a lifesaver. Something moving that shouldn’t? Tape it down. Are the tent poles broken? Tape it. If your sleeping bag rips or your bottle starts leaking just whack some tape on there and you’re good to go.

4. ALOE VERA GEL = LIFE SAVER?

Aloe vera gel can be used for so much more than just sunburns, it helps heal small wounds, ease the itch of bug bites, and keeps your skin hydrated (which is great for blisters).

5. KEEP YOUR BATTERIES FULL

A lot of gear nowadays runs on electricity, that’s why it is important to have a good power bank and extra batteries for your gear. You don’t wanna end up with a dead lamp in the middle of the night.

6. HYGIENE HACK

When we go camping we don’t always have access to running water and a hot shower, wet wipes are a great way to freshen up when you’re on the go. Being able to clean up after a long day makes the night so much better. However, biodegradable or not you should never leave trash around, that brings me to the next thing on the list.

7. LEAVE NO TRACE

Trash bags. Having a trash bag with you is a must. No matter how hard we try, we always end up creating some trash. Even if the banana peel is natural and biodegradable we still put it in a trash bag to bring home and recycle. The trash bag can also be used for trash we find when we’re out and about. We should always do our best to leave the world a better place than how we found it.
